1. What is the best moment of the day?
Half an hour before I fall asleep every night. It is the time where I reflect, contemplate and think about my life or that day.
2. What inspires you?
I look for inspiration in the little things in life. Small details like a shadow cast on a quiet street, the textured grain of a nice old piece of wood or the split-second micro-expressions on a persons face when reacting to a certain situation are some things that can easily get my creative juices flowing!
3. How would a good friend describe you?
Haha that’s a great question! Probably as someone who is wise, caring and incredibly annoying!
4. Your lifestyle in 5 words?
The method and the madness.
5. Which books, newspapers or magazines do you read?
Self Service, Purple Fashion, Another Magazine, WAD Magazine, Numero and Monocle (from the printed world). Concerning online publications, there might be too many to mention here!
6. Which films or directors blow your mind?
As of late, the works of Nick Knight, Ruth Hogben, and pretty much most of the works coming out of SHOWstudio.
7. What do you love about your city?
I love the fact that it is a really big small city. It is easy to be in the midst of everything with your finger at the pulse, while at the same time, it is easy for me to disappear both physically and into my own mind!
8. Which brands do you fancy?
Damir Doma, Rick Owens, Boris Bidjan Saberi, Kris Van Assche, Haider Ackermann & Julius.
9. What sound fits best to your city?
The sound of chatter! Spaniard love to talk and their language accentuates that further! You can almost always hear a very animated conversation somewhere in the distance.
10. What smell would describe your city best?
The smell of sunshine around the corner.
11. What are your favourite cities around the globe?
London, Paris, Tokyo (even though I’ve never been!) and Singapore (specifically for the food!).
12. Who is your hero?
I believe heroism is a notion that starts from oneself. You should be the hero you seek in your life.
13. Your life philosophy?
Stop waiting, start creating.
14. What does NECTAR & PULSE mean to you?
Nectar & Pulse, to me, represents finding the essence or nectar of a city and it’s current culture through a series of handpicked ambassadors or soul mates who have their finger on the creative pulse of life, culture and style within their representative fields and cities.
15. Your perfect 24 hours?
Breakfast in Paris, lunch in Tokyo and dinner in time to watch the sunset in s secluded Thai island. Im sure that if I had my superpower this point I’d be able to get a lot more out of my day!!!
16. What music is most likely in your ears these days?
One album I’ve found myself listening to a lot these days is the Crystal Fighters - Star of Love album. It reflects the sunshine and summertime well I think!
17. What don’t you like about it?
It would probably be the petty crime on the streets. It is unnecessary, annoying and taints an otherwise charming city.
18. Why do you live in this city?
I actually moved here to study about 4 years ago but I have to admit that Barcelona is a difficult city to leave. The local culture is very relaxed, life is great here and considering it’s geographical location, you often meet globally cultured people who are intelligent and with great stories to stimulate your mind.
19. Which music can´t you live without?
Everything saved on my laptop, hard drive, online playlists and so on... Music and I have a very special relationship!
20. What are your future plans?
To entail a more substantial presence in the style industry. I would like to work with both tangible and intangible talent.
21. What superpower would you like to have?
Recently I’ve found myself facing severe cases of wanderlust. I’d love to be able to manipulate space & time. Imagine being able to be any place you want, anywhere in the world at any time in a matter of seconds? Happiness!
22. What does travelling mean to you?
Travelling to me means inspiration, stimulation and exploration. I typically refrain from doing the touristy thing when I travel; I’d much rather explore the local lifestyle. I like to live like the locals when it comes to food, drink, shopping, waking hours, and pretty much anything else. Exploring different ways of life is something that heavily inspires me.
23. What´s your earliest memory of travelling?
My earliest memory is travelling up to the mountains of Pakistan with my grandmother and brother as a young child. It took me a few days to understand that just because I left my city, it didn’t mean it was nighttime where my mother was while it was day where I was (I wasn’t more than an hour or two away from her by plane!).
24. Five things we would find in your suitcase?
My laptop, iPhone, moleskine notebook, camera and my shades! Having written this, I’ve just realised how technologically dependent I am!
25. Where would you travel to if it was the last journey in your life?
Definitely Tokyo!
26. You never leave the house without ... ?
My iPhone/iPod (I can’t leave my house without my music!), and my shades!
27. If you could change a thing – what would it be?
It would probably be the petty crime on the streets. It is unnecessary, annoying and overshadows an otherwise charming city.
28. Why did you move here or never left it?
See above.
